The American Association of
Retired Persons is still offering Tax Services for taxpayers with moderate
to low income. They’ll be at the Big Spring Senior Citizen’s Center Mondays,
offering tax preparation with free electronic “E-Filing” for faster
refunds. Interested Taxpayers should bring a Photo ID, Social Security Card.
last year’s tax return, and proof of income. The AARP Tax Aide will be at
the senior center Mondays from 8:00 AM until noon, at 1901 Simler Road.
The Crossroads Young Marines will
be having a second registration day for March tomorrow, Tuesday the 11th,
at the Hangar 25 Air Museum.
Also tomorrow, Big Spring’s City Council will meet for their first session
of March, with several items on the agenda including: Upgrades to the
Municipal Auditorium, the city’s annual audit, continuing discussion over
the Atmos energy rates, and several other items. That is set for 5:30 PM
tomorrow, in the City Council Chambers.
Enforcement agencies are still out in force throughout Howard County until
in an effort to cut down on drunk driving. In addition to extra officers on
the road, the Texas Department of Public Safety seeks to educate and caution
young adults on the dangers of drunk driving.
